Galen Loughrey, MD

Dr. Loughrey graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 2009 and continued his medical training at UNM to completion of his residency with the University of New Mexico Family and Community Medicine in 2012. Dr Loughrey has been part of the FCCH family since 2013. He is double board certified in Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine, as he completed his board certification for Lifestyle Medicine in 2020. Dr. Loughrey's medical practice interests include: incorporating Lifestyle Medicine; medication provision for opioid use disorder; advocating and promoting health equity for communities, and making his patients laugh. He is fluent in Spanish and enjoys basic conversations in Bahian Portuguese. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Loughrey can be found enjoying the outdoors with his family, on a futebol pitch, camping, rock climbing, and possibly dancing salsa or bachata. He firmly believes in the wise words of Cesar Chavez - “The end of all education should surely be service to others.”
