Benjamin Buxton, MD

A graduate of East Tennessee State University College of Medicine, Dr. Buxton completed his residency at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine Clinical Informatics. He began working for First Choice Community Healthcare in 2009, and subsequently held the position of Clinical Supervisor. He performs the duties of Chief Medical Informatics Officer in addition to his clinical duties. He has been appointed Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine with the University of New Mexico Department of Family and Community Medicine for precepting medical students at the Alamosa Center and the South Valley Health Commons, in addition to caring for his panel of patients at the Alamosa Center. Personally, he is passionate about many things including active outdoor recreation like mountain biking and hiking. He is fluent in German and capable in Spanish.
